The challenge

Orbit's learners were adults studying after work in twenty-minute fragments. The platform was built around the semester, not the fragment.

Completion stalled at 29%. Learners told us they lost the thread between sessions and never regained it.

Our approach

We designed around re-entry rather than entry: every return lands on the exact sentence you stopped at, with a sixty-second recap of the last session.

A single persistent progress spine runs the length of the product, and motion is used only where it communicates state change — never on load, never for decoration.

Persistent progress spine

They designed for the tired version of our learner. That's a choice most teams never make.
